The founder & mentor of Odisha Gau-seva Samiti, also the spiritual leader of Kriya Yoga International, Shri shri Paramahamsa Swami Prajnananda Ji Maharaj had been in the famous ashram "Pathmeda Godham". It is in the district of Jalore in Rajasthan, India. Swamiji was practicing mauna vrata (vow of silence) that time and his presence there was unknown to others.
During his stay, he was completely mesmerised by the selfless service & reverence towards gomata (indigenous cow) of Gorishi Shri Shri Swami Dattasaranananda Ji Maharaj.
Under his guidance, swamiji started researching on indigenous cow and uncovered so many facts that were previously unknown to most of all. With this new found knowledge & divine inspiration, he vowed to spread the message of primacy of indigenous cow all over the world.
In 2013, swamiji presided Surabhi Yajna (an indian fire ceremony dedicated to the Goddess of Cow) at Hariharnanda Gurukulam, Puri.
In 2014, he started working towards the fulfilment of his divine purpose & people from every spectrum of society joined in his journey.
In 2015, he organised 90 “Go Jagaran Yatra” (road shows) throughout Odisha (3 in each of 30 districts) & succeeded in creating renewed interest among mass towards traditional cow herding & cow-based agriculture.
Here, public were made aware about Desi Gomata, their utilities, specialities, miraculous stories of Gomata, treatment through Panchagabya products, and other utilities of cow based products. Gita Jnana Yajna was held in each district headquarters during this campaign. Far reaching effects were seen in the field of Goseva after Paramahamsaji’s “Go Jagaran Yatra”.
To carry out this divine work, Odisha Gau-seva Samiti was established on 16th February 2016 under Societies Registration Act, 1860.
